Start with one workflow
Do not migrate every spreadsheet at once. Pick the workflow that creates the most risk or duplicated effort, such as RAMS, job planning, document control, stock or commercial records.
Migration steps
- List the spreadsheets currently used.
- Choose one workflow and owner.
- Clean obvious duplicate columns and stale rows.
- Import or recreate the useful records.
- Run one live job through the new workflow.
- Retire the old spreadsheet after the team trusts the process.
Keep evidence and history
Keep archived copies of old sheets where needed, but make the new system the source of truth for active jobs.
