What stock control should prove
Stock control should show what materials exist, where they are, what job they belong to and whether they have been ordered, delivered, used or returned.
Checklist
- Material name, category and supplier
- Stock location and quantity
- Purchase order or delivery reference
- Job allocation and expected use date
- Photo or delivery note evidence
- Reorder level, owner and review date
- Waste, returns and unused materials
Link stock to jobs
Materials become hard to manage when they are tracked separately from jobs. Connect each material record to the job plan, purchase order, delivery and completion evidence.
