Fire stopping records need context
A photo of completed work is useful, but it is stronger when it is linked to the location, product, installer, drawing, inspection and approval record. Without that context, handover evidence can become a folder of images that is hard to defend.
Use this checklist to tighten the record before close-out.
Evidence to capture
- Project, building, floor, zone and location reference.
- Opening, penetration or fire compartment reference.
- Product name, system detail and installation method.
- Installer name, competence evidence and date completed.
- Before, during and after photos where required.
- Inspection status, comments, snags and corrective actions.
- Sign-off, client acceptance and handover export history.
Keep evidence linked to drawings
Where possible, connect evidence to the drawing, room, zone or asset reference. This makes it easier for clients and reviewers to locate the evidence later.
