Readiness is more than a rota
Before work starts, contractors need confidence that the right people and equipment are ready for the task. A rota alone does not show whether competencies are valid, whether plant is checked or whether tools are safe to use.
The strongest process connects workforce records and equipment records to the project, site and task.
Workforce checks
- Timesheets and attendance linked to the correct project.
- CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, welding or role-specific competencies recorded.
- Certificate issue dates, expiry dates and evidence files attached.
- Expiry alerts visible before the worker is needed on site.
- Missing competency gaps assigned to an owner.
Equipment checks
- Tools, vehicles and plant listed in an equipment register.
- Daily checks recorded before use where required.
- Servicing dates, inspection records and maintenance notes visible.
- QR scan history showing where equipment has been used or checked.
- Quarantine status for equipment that should not be used.
Avoid separate trackers
Workforce and equipment readiness becomes harder when training records, attendance, asset registers, daily checks and maintenance notes all live in different places. That creates duplicated admin and increases the chance that a gap is missed.
